Spy comedy “KC Undercover” has been renewed for a third season.
Disney Channel confirmed the news Tuesday morning.
No premiere date has yet been set for the third season, which will begin production in early 2017 after star Zendaya wraps work on “The Greatest Showman” and Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
“I’m happy I get to continue making positive television for kids all over the world,” said Zendaya, who is also a producer for the series. “Stay tuned for season three – it’s going to be next level!”
“KC Undercover,” which also stars Kadeem Hardison, Tammy Townsend, Kamil McFadden, Trinitee Stokes and Veronica Dunne, is currently in its second season. It performs solidly with the network’s target youth demographics.
“We’re very proud of the success of ‘K.C. Undercover’ and how popular it is across our different platforms,” said Disney Channel’s Adam Bonnett. “The series will continue to deliver action sequences that push the boundaries of the multi-camera genre with the same great quality storytelling and talented cast led by the incomparable Zendaya and executive producer Rob Lotterstein.”
