Disney Developing “That’s So Raven” Sequel, Raven-Symoné Returning; Plot Details

Development has begun on a “That’s So Raven” sequel/spin-off.

Disney Channel confirmed the news in a Thursday morning press release.

“[Raven-Symoné] will both executive produce and reprise her role of the fan-favorite character Raven Baxter,” says Disney of the project, which is in preliminary casting.

The as-yet-untitled series will follow a now-divorced Raven and her two pre-teen children (one boy, one girl). One of the kids has inherited her ability to catch glimpses of the future.

“Raven’s brilliant style of fearless comedy was a driving force for Disney Channel’s success around the world,” says Disney Channel’s Adam Bonnett. “Her performance in ‘That’s So Raven’ is timeless. We now have our eyes on the future with her, and we’re looking forward to telling more stories for a new generation with an adult Raven Baxter raising her young family.”

“That’s So Raven” remains popular with Disney Channel viewers. According to the network, midnight re-runs that aired between 12/30/15 and 4/27/16 drew an average of 1.06 million total viewers.

As the product is in the early development stages, no airdate or episode order has been confirmed.
