US Album Sales Projections Upgraded For Lady Gaga’s “Joanne,” PTX’s “A Pentatonix Christmas”

In cover the initial Hits Daily Double sales projections, we noted that they have been less accurate than usual in recent weeks.

That alert proved applicable to projections for Lady Gaga’s “Joanne” and Pentatonix’s “A Pentatonix Christmas.

Hits has substantially lifted its projections for the two albums.

Originally expected to sell 125-135,000 pure US copies, “Joanne” is now trending for 155-165,000. The inclusion of TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) should yield a consumption total in the 180-190,000 range.

The pure sales figure will be enough for #1 on Top Album Sales; the consumption figure will earn “Joanne” #1 on the Billboard 200.

“A Pentatonix Christmas” is now on track to sell 40-45,000 pure US copies this week. Given the growing buzz over album track “Hallelujah,” it is too early to offer meaningful projections for TEA and SEA.

The updated projections for the other key new releases do not dramatically differ from those offered Saturday.
