Ratings: “Vampire Diaries” Falls From Last Premiere, Ties Last Finale; “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” Sets Viewership Low

From a ratings standpoint, season eight of “The Vampire Diaries” opened roughly the same way season seven concluded.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Friday’s “The Vampire Diaries” drew a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating and 1.06 million total viewers.

Down from the 0.6 rating and 1.38 million viewer mark garnered by the season seven premiere (which aired on a Thursday), the numbers are essentially even with the 0.4 rating and 1.04 million audience figure posted by the seventh season finale.

Season eight will bring “The Vampire Diaries” to an end.

Friday’s “TVD” premiere led into the second season (and new time period) premiere of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.” The critically acclaimed series barely registered with a 0.2 adults 18-49 rating and 539,000 total viewers. While “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” posted a 0.2 rating on a few occasions in season one, this week’s viewership figure marks a new series low.
