Green Day’s “Revolution Radio” easily won the weekly US album sales race. It is also set to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 consumption chart.
According to Hits Daily Double, “Revolution Radio” sold approximately 88,670 pure US copies during the October 7-13 tracking week. The tally more than doubles that of the week’s #2 seller.
The inclusion of TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) yields a first-week consumption total of ~93,471 units. That count, too, easily ranks as the week’s best.
Due Sunday, Billboard’s more authoritative data may differ slightly from that reported by Hits. The discrepancy will not, however, be enough to change the outcome. “Revolution Radio” will be #1 on Top Album Sales and the Billboard 200.
It will be Green Day’s first #1 album since 2009’s “21st Century Breakdown.” All three components of the “Uno! Dos! Tre!” trilogy — the albums released in between “21st Century Breakdown” and “Revolution Radio” — missed #1.
This week’s other pure sales leaders: Norah Jones’ “Day Breaks” (~43,594 US sales), OneRepublic’s “Oh My My” (~35,408 US sales), Alter Bridge’s “The Last Hero” (~28,938 US sales) and Phantogram’s “Three” (~21,591 US sales)
This week’s other consumption leaders: “Oh My My” (~47,518 total units), “Day Breaks” (~46,113 total units), Drake’s “Views” (~42,119 total units) and “Suicide Squad: The Album” (~41,330 total units)
