Blake Shelton’s “Based on A True Story,” “Red River Blue” Certified Double Platinum In US

When it comes to RIAA certifications, October 7 was a very fruitful day for Blake Shelton.

The country superstar and “Voice” coach received a handful of new honors, including two new double platinum awards.

The double platinum honors, confirming 2 million in US album units, went to Shelton’s “Based On A True Story…” and “Red River Blue.” Album units are equivalent to 1 album sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.

Shelton’s “Bringing Back The Sunshine” and “Blake Shelton’s Barn And Grill” concurrently went platinum, signifying 1 million in confirmed units.

Shelton also received numerous single certifications. His “Ol’ Red” and “Doin’ What She Likes” went platinum (1 million digital single units), while “Came Here To Forget,” “Kiss My Country Ass,” and “Footloose” went gold (500,000 digital single units).

Single units are equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.
