Friday night’s “Bunk’d,” which led into the premiere of Disney Channel’s original movie “The Swap,” posted a substantial gain in live+same-day viewership.
According to L+SD data posted by Showbuzz, “Bunk’d” drew 2.00 million total viewers. The number easily tops the 1.50 million mark garnered by last week’s episode.
Not simply up week-to-week, it was the show’s most watched installment since August 21, 2015 (2.18 million).
“Bunk’d” also posted week-to-week gains in key young adult and youth demographics.
While “Bunk’d” led into – rather than out of – “The Swap,” it still benefited from airing on the same night. Further synergy (and benefit) came from the fact that “The Swap” starred “Bunk’d” lead Peyton List.
Friday’s “The Swap” premiere drew 2.64 million total live+same-day viewers. The figure is soft by DCOM standards — and down from the 3.45 million L+SD mark achieved by previous DCOM “Adventures In Babysitting” — but still strong by overall cable standards. “The Swap” also ranked as Friday’s top entertainment program in key youth and kid demographics.
It should, moreover, receive a big lift from multi-platform viewing, DVR and encore airings.
“The Swap” led into “Bizaardvark,” which drew 1.92 million total viewers. The figure massively tops the last 1.28 million drawn by the previous episode (on Sunday, October 2).
Friday’s “Bizaardvark” was the most watched episode since the series premiere, which drew 2.41 million viewers following the initial “Adventures In Babysitting” broadcast.
