Freeform’s “Stitchers” Renewed For Season 3

“Stitchers” may not be a blockbuster hit, but it will be back for season three. Freeform confirmed the renewal Thursday afternoon.

“’Stitchers’’ passionate fanbase has been vocal about wanting to see more of this show, and we listened,” said Freeform’s Karey Burke. “’Stitchers’ has proven itself a consistently strong performer, and we’re proud of the fact that it celebrates #smartgirls everywhere.”

“Stitchers” was an underwhelming — but passable — live+same-day performer in season one. The first season averaged a 0.33 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic.

Airing in a weaker timeslot with less lead-in support, “Stitchers” predictably took a big hit in season two. The most recent season averaged a mere 0.15 live+same-day rating in the key demo.

Still, there are positive facets to the show’s performance.

“Among Adults 18-49, “Stitchers” is Freeform’s No. 2 new series of the past two seasons behind only “Shadowhunters” and is the network’s No. 3 original series across digital platforms behind only “Pretty Little Liars” and “Shadowhunters,”” touts Freeform.

A premiere date has not yet been set.
