Train’s “Play That Song” Earns Most Added Honor At Hot AC Radio

Whether they will enthusiastically “Play That Song” in the long run remains to be seen, but hot adult contemporary radio programmers are giving Train’s new single a warm welcome.

Picked up by 31 Mediabase-monitored stations, “Play That Song” ranks as the Hot AC format’s most added song.

The Weeknd’s “Starboy (featuring Daft Punk),” which topped last week’s add board, takes second this week. It was picked up by another 18 stations.

Credited with 10 weekly adds each, Bastille’s “Good Grief” and twenty one pilots’ “Heathens” tie for third place.

An add count of 9 slots Sia’s “The Greatest (featuring Kendrick Lamar)” as fifth-most added. The Fray’s “Singing Low,” which received 8 weekly adds, lands in sixth.

Alessia Cara’s “Scars To Your Beautiful,” Hailee Steinfeld & Grey’s “Starving (featuring Zedd),” Kenny Chesney’s “Setting The World On Fire (featuring P!nk),” and The Chainsmokers’ “Closer (featuring Halsey)” follow in a tie for seventh place; each scored support from 7 Hot AC stations.
