Thomas Rhett’s “Star Of The Show,” Blake Shelton’s “A Guy With A Girl” Reach Country Radio’s Top 60

Thomas Rhett’s new “Star Of The Show” and Blake Shelton’s “A Guy With A Girl” are quickly amassing airplay at country radio.

They received enough airplay this past week, in fact, to score Top 60 positions at the country radio format.

“Star Of The Show,” which did not arrive until late in the tracking week, ranks as the Mediabase country panel’s #58 song. “A Guy With A Girl” enjoys a twenty-six place lift to #60.

The songs respectively received 332 and 326 spins during the September 25-October 1 tracking period. It is worth noting, however, that Mediabase ranks country songs based on a proprietary scoring system (spins receive point values based on the size of the market in which they were received) rather than raw airplay.

“Star Of The Show” is the follow-up to “Vacation,” which was the first Rhett single since 2012’s “Beer With Jesus” to miss #1. “A Guy With A Girl” follows “She’s Got A Way With Words,” which was the first Shelton single since 2009’s “I’ll Just Hold On” to fall short of #1.
