James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go” Dethrones “Closer,” Claims #1 On UK Singles Chart

Last week, James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go” rocketed to #2 on the Official UK Singles Chart.

This week, it ascends to #1.

“Say You Won’t Let Go” seizes the throne from The Chainsmokers’ “Closer (featuring Halsey),” which spent four weeks at #1. “Closer” slips to #2 on this week’s chart.

“Say You Won’t Let Go” is the second UK chart-topper for Arthur, who previously reached #1 with “Impossible.”

This week’s biggest debut comes from The Weeknd, whose “Starboy (featuring Daft Punk)” arrives at #3. Calvin Harris’ “My Way” (#4, +1) and DJ Snake’s “Let Me Love You (featuring Justin Bieber)” (#5, -2) complete the Top 5.

Other notables inside the Top 40:
— Zara Larsson’s “Ain’t My Fault” rises three places to #23.
— Matoma & Becky Hill’s “False Alarm” rises five places to #28.
— Dua Lipa’s “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” rises eight places to #38.
— Craig David & Sigala’s “Ain’t Giving Up” rises three places to #39.
