Andrew McMahon’s “Fire Escape” Earns Most Added Honor At Alt Radio; The Weeknd Follows

Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness’ “Fire Escape” predictably claims the top spot on this week’s alternative radio add board.

The veteran artist’s new single was added by 11 Mediabase-monitored alternative stations in conjunction with this week’s official impact.

In a testament to its immediate and immense resonance with radio programmers, The Weeknd’s “Starboy (featuring Daft Punk)” follows as this week’s second-most added song at alternative radio.

The song, which dominantly topped the hot adult contemporary, pop, rhythmic and urban add boards, was added by 9 alternative/modern rock stations this week.

An add count of 8 slots Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Go Robot” in third place on the add board. Credited with 7 pickups, K.Flay’s “Blood In The Cut” ranks as fourth-most added.

Fitz And The Tantrums’ “Roll Up,” Saint Motel’s “Move,” and The Strumbellas’ “We Don’t Know” follow in a tie for fifth-most added; each won support from 6 stations this week.

Five songs land in a tie for eighth place; Bleeker’s “Highway,” Grouplove’s “Welcome To Your Life,” Jimmy Eat World’s “Sure And Certain,” Judah & The Lion’s “Take It All Back,” and Zipper Club’s “Going The Distance” were each added by 5 stations.
