Adele’s “21” Reaches 14X Platinum, “25” Officially Diamond, “Hello” 7X Platinum

Adele’s three albums — and two of her recent singles — earned new US certifications on September 20, 2016.

According to the RIAA, singer-songwriter’s Grammy-winning blockbuster “21” reached 14x platinum on that date. Confirming news Columbia Records shared earlier this summer, “25” was formally certified diamond (10x platinum), while her debut album “19” earned a triple platinum award.

Single “Hello,” which appears on “25,” went 7x platinum. Fellow “25” track “When We Were Young” earned a platinum distinction.

The album awards confirm unit totals of 14 million (for “21”), 10 million (for “25”) and 3 million (for “19”). Each unit is equal to 1 US album sale, 10 US track sales or 1500 US track streams.

The single awards respectively confirm 7 million and 1 million in digital US single units, with each unit equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.
