Ratings: “American Horror Story: Roanoke” Endures Big L+SD Drop, Still Leads Cable

From a live+same-day standpoint, the previous five “American Horror Story” installments suffered week two losses in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

The sixth installment did not buck the trend.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s edition of “AHS” drew a 1.79 adults 18-49 rating and 3.27 million total viewers. The numbers sharply trail the 2.78 rating and 5.14 million total viewers garnered by last week’s premiere.

Despite the week-to-week loss, “AHS” still easily ranked as the night’s top cable original in adults 18-49. Its closest competition came from “South Park,” which posted a 0.97.

It did, however, cede its live+same-day viewership throne to “The Kelly File,” which drew 3.51 million total viewers.

Given its strong support from DVR viewers, “Roanoke” will close the gap — and then some — in the live+3 and live+7 reports.

— As a point of comparison, the second episode of last year’s “AHS” drew a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating and
4.06 million total live+same-day viewers.
