Ratings: “Elena Of Avalor,” “Bunk’d,” “Girl Meets World” Dip In Live+Same-Day Viewership

As television viewers continue embracing on-demand, DVR, online streaming and other alternative viewing options, live+same-day ratings are becoming less exhaustive when it comes to assessing popularity.

They still do carry weight as a performance measurement tool.

And in the case of Disney Channel’s Friday night originals, they reflect episode-to-episode losses in total viewership.

Airing for the first time since August 26, this Friday’s “Elena Of Avalor,” “Bunk’d,” and “Girl Meets World” all endured live+same-day viewership losses.

According to L+SD data posted by Showbuzz, “Elena” drew 1.14 million viewers (down from 1.26 million). “Bunk’d” followed with 1.32 million (down from 1.54 million), while live+same-day “Girl Meets World” viewership dropped fell from 1.86 million to 1.42 million.

The three shows also slipped in adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

“Girl Meets World” was also down sharply with males and females 12-34. “Bunk’d” suffered non-trivial drops in those demos, but “Elena Of Avalor” was fairly steady on an episode-to-episode basis.

Disney, of course, is a youth-skewing network. While this week’s episodes were not strong relative to their own standards in kid and tween demos, their marks do compare well to those of Friday’s other programming.
