Major Lazer, Justin Bieber & MØ’s “Cold Water” Reaches #1 At Pop Radio; Chainsmokers & Halsey #2

Making good on the mid-week projection, Major Lazer’s “Cold Water (featuring Justin Bieber & MØ)” climbs to #1 on this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

Up one place from last week’s position, “Cold Water” received ~16,477 spins during the September 11-17 tracking period (+1,047).

“Cold Water” follows “Lean On” as the second #1 for both Major Lazer and MØ. It is the fourth for Bieber, who previously topped the chart with his own “What Do You Mean,” “Sorry,” and “Love Yourself.”

A three-place rise brings The Chainsmokers’ “Closer (featuring Halsey)” up to the runner-up position. It received ~15,706 spins this week, besting last week’s count by 2,497. That represents the greatest weekly airplay gain.

Adele’s “Send My Love (To Your New Lover),” last week’s #1, falls two places to #3. It received ~15,216 weekly spins (-665).

Sia’s “Cheap Thrills (featuring Sean Paul)” drops two places to #4 with ~14,577 spins (-1,294), while Shawn Mendes’ “Treat You Better” rises a spot to #5 courtesy its ~14,124 plays (+1,246).
