Ratings: “Ballers” Falls To Series Low Against Football, “Vice Principals” Fairly Steady

Airing without “The Night Of” lead-in support and opposite NFL competition, HBO’s “Ballers” predictably fell to live+same-day lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

Lead-out “Vice Principals” dipped to a low in adults 18-49 but actually gained in total viewership.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “Ballers” drew a 0.38 adults 18-49 rating and 0.87 million total viewers. The numbers trail the 0.48 rating and 1.01 million drawn by the previous episode, which at the time represented series lows.

While “Ballers” twice aired without major lead-in support last year, it had never been previously positioned against regular season NFL action. Given that it focuses on the world of football, it is safe to assume that there is overlapping viewership.

“Vice Principals” followed with a 0.29 rating and 0.63 million viewers. Last week’s broadcast scored a 0.30 but only reached 0.62 million audience members.
