Eric Church’s “Kill A Word,” Carrie Underwood’s “Dirty Laundry” Reach Country Radio’s Top 60

Eric Church’s “Kill A Word (featuring Rhiannon Giddens)” impacted country radio this past week. Carrie Underwood’s “Dirty Laundry” goes for adds this week.

Based on airplay attained during the August 28-September 3 tracking period, both songs now hold Top 60 positions at the format.

Up fourteen places, “Kill A Word” now ranks as the Mediabase country panel’s #55 song. Church’s single received 498 tracking period plays, but it is worth noting that Mediabase ranks songs based on a proprietary scoring system (spins are given point values values based on the size of the market in which they were received) rather than raw airplay.

“Dirty Laundry,” which received 458 weekly spins, rises eight places to #56.

Both singles are the follow-ups to #1 hits. “Kill A Word” follows Church’s chart-topping “Record Year,” while “Dirty Laundry” was preceded by Underwood’s hit “Church Bells.”
