DNCE Talks Album Release Date, Kanye’s “Performance,” Best New Artist Win In VMAs Interview

Asked to provide their immediate reaction to winning the Best New Artist award at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, the four members of DNCE simply screamed.

Once the screams of joy and surprise came to a conclusion, the band participated in a brief backstage interview with MTV.

The interview was issued to the media early Monday morning.  Highlights follow:

On their favorite performances:

Joe: It’s been amazing. Rihanna’s killing it, still. Beyonce was so fierce, as they say these days. Kanye was a great performance as well – it was an art performance.

Cole: Yeah, spoken word slash performance art slash tone poem.

Joe: Slash nomination. Yeah, we vote for Kanye.

On the craziest moment of the night

Cole: There was this one moment where we won best new artist. That was crazy, and we’re so happy right now. I’m going to have sex with this Moon Guy.

On what’s next
Joe: We have an album coming out November 18. We’re going on tour with Selena Gomez in Europe. And we are going to go get drunk tonight.
