Twenty One Pilots’ “Ride” Reaches #1 At Pop Radio; Major Lazer, Justin Bieber & MØ’s “Cold Water” Top 5

Despite suffering a week-to-week loss in airplay, twenty one pilots’ “Ride” rises to the top spot on this week’s Mediabase pop chart.

Played ~17,586 times during the August 21-27 tracking week (-95), “Ride” rises one place to #1 on this week’s chart. It seizes the throne from Sia’s “Cheap Thrills (featuring Sean Paul),” which falls to #2 after five weeks on top. “Cheap Thrills” received ~17,565 weekly spins (-839).

In reaching #1, “Ride” becomes twenty one pilots’ second chart-topper. The duo previously reached the pop’s summit with “Stressed Out.”

Credited with ~15,661 weekly spins (-1,873), Calvin Harris’ “This Is What You Came For (featuring Rihanna)” holds at #3. Adele’s “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” holds at #4 with ~13,826 plays (+1,152).

Up two places, Major Lazer’s “Cold Water (featuring Justin Bieber & MØ)” reaches a new peak of #5. It garnered ~12,796 tracking week spins (+1,307).
