New District’s “Ain’t Got Money” Picking Up Pop Airplay In Monterey, Spokane, New Orleans, More

New District’s “Ain’t Got Money” is starting to receive attention at pop radio.

Numerous stations recently began spinning the song. Mediabase identifies Monterey’s 101.7 The Beach, Spokane’s 105.7 Now, New Orleans’ B97, and Reno’s Alice 96.5 as the leading supporters.

101.7 The Beach played the song 21 times over the past seven days. 105.7 Now offered 13 plays within that window, while B97 and Alice 96.5 respectively contributed 10 and 8 plays.

A handful of other stations — including Las Vegas’ 104.3 NOW, Palm Springs’ 97.7 KRCK, Corpus Christi’s Planet 102.3 and Burlington’s Planet 96.7 — provided 7 spins during the trailing seven days.

B97, Planet 96.7, Memphis’ Q107.5, and Gulfport’s 95-3 Gorilla officially added the song to their playlists this week.

It should be noted that the majority of the song’s airplay is coming in the “overnight” daypart, which tends to be the lowest-rated. Still, it is hard to view early radio support as anything but positive for New District and its new single.

“Ain’t Got Money” interpolates from the Loggins and Messina classic “Danny’s Song.”
