Ratings: “Elena Of Avalor,” “Girl Meets World” Rise This Week

Disney Channel did not air original editions of “Elena Of Avalor” and “Girl Meets World” against the opening Olympics ceremony on August 5.

It did, however, air new editions of the two series this past Friday.

Both enjoyed episode-to-episode gains in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and total viewers.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Friday’s “Elena Of Avalor” drew a 0.34 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.34 adults 18-34 rating, and 1.73 million total viewers.

The three numbers comfortably top those of the 7/29 broadcast, which drew a 0.24 in adults 18-49, a 0.26 in adults 18-34 and 1.23 million in total viewership.

News of the gain comes amid news that “Elena” has been renewed for a second season.

Airing at 8:30PM — and thus directly against primetime Olympics competition — “Girl Meets World” also posted gains. Friday’s installment scored a 0.44 in adults 18-49, a 0.48 in adults 18-34 and 2.06 million in total viewership.

The previous “GMW” delivered respective demo ratings of 0.42 and 0.41. It reached 1.78 million total viewers.

Entitled “Girl Meets I Do,” this Friday’s episode featured the wedding between Katy and Shawn.
