The Chainsmokers & Halsey’s “Closer” Reaches #1 In Australia; DJ Snake & Bieber’s “LMLY” Debuts At #3

Last week, The Chainsmokers’ “Closer (featuring Halsey)” debuted at #1 on the ARIA singles chart.

The single improves to #1 on the Australian singles chart. It is the first Australian #1 achieved by either act.

“Closer,” which is already certified gold in Australia, seizes the throne from Major Lazer’s “Cold Water (featuring Justin Bieber & MØ). Also certified gold in Australia, “Cold Water” falls to #2 on this week’s chart.

DJ Snake’s new “Let Me Love You (featuring Bieber)” debuts at #3. Illy’s “Papercuts (featuring Vera Blue)” follows at #4 (-1), while twenty one pilots’ “Heathens” soars fourteen places to #5.

In addition to “Let Me Love You,” this week’s ARIA chart welcomes debuts from Lil Wayne/Wiz Khalifa/Imagine Dragons’ “Sucker For Pain (featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Logic & X Ambassadors)” (#17) and Skrillex & Rick Ross’ “Purple Lamborghini” (#39). Both songs appear on the “Suicide Squad” soundtrack.
