Ratings: “Mr. Robot” Drops To Yet Another Low; “Suits” Also Falls

Positioned against NBC’s Olympics coverage, Wednesday’s “Mr. Robot” set new live+same-day lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

According to L+SD data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s edition of the Emmy-nominated drama drew a mere 0.22 adults 18-49 rating and 572,000 total viewers.

The series low numbers trail the 0.24 adults 18-49 rating and 705,000 viewer mark posted by last week’s episode.

Illustrative of the Olympics’ presumed impact, lead-in “Suits” was also down this week. The show, which posted a 0.54 rating and drew 1.812 million viewers last week, fell to a 0.39 with 1.506 milion this week.

— Scheduling has not been kind to season two of “Mr. Robot.” In addition to Olympics opposition this week and next week, the USA Network drama faced RNC and DNC coverage last month.

By the same token, the soft numbers for last week’s uncontested episode — and the underwhelming marks delivered by the season premiere — offer no reason for confidence that “Mr. Robot” would be a live+same-day powerhouse in a more favorable scheduling scenario.

On the plus side, “Mr. Robot” receives big boosts from time-shifted viewing. Its acclaim and awards attention also yield considerable value for USA.
