Britney Spears & G-Eazy’s “Make Me” Heading Top 20 At Pop Radio; Chainsmokers & Halsey May Also Enter

Britney Spears’ “Make Me (featuring G-Eazy)” is not having a particularly strong week in terms of airplay gains at pop radio, but it still looks poised to enter the format’s Top 20.

The “Glory” single received 2,874 spins during the first four days of the August 7-13 tracking week. Up 4.7% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “Make Me” at #19 on Mediabase’s building chart.

Barring a sudden nosedive, “Make Me” should be able to retain its Top 20 position through the close of tracking.

— “Make Me” may not be the only addition to the Top 20. The Chainsmokers’ “Closer (featuring Halsey)” also has a chance of getting there.

“Closer” received 2,374 spins during the tracking week’s first four days, a count that bests last week’s mark by a whopping 181.6%.

While it is presently only #22 on the building chart, it has a solid chance of leapfrogging Meghan Trainor’s building #20 “Me Too” and Kent Jones’ building #21 “Don’t Mind” before the close of tracking. Neither song has a huge lead in spins (“Me Too” is at 2,556 and “Don’t Mind” is at 2,534), and both are rapidly losing steam. The Trainor song is down 36.4% from last week, while Jones’ tune is down a massive 44.1%.
