Facing competition from the Olympics, all four of HBO’s Sunday originals suffered losses in the adults 18-49 demographic.
“The Night Of,” however, managed a gain in total viewership — a metric more relevant for a network that makes money off subscriptions rather than advertisements.
According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “The Night Of” drew a 0.47 adults 18-49 rating and 1.37 million total viewers. Last week’s episode drew a slightly stronger demo rating of 0.50 but a total audience of just 1.34 million.
This was the most watched “The Night Of” yet.
Lead-out “Ballers” followed with a 0.54 rating and 1.15 million total viewers. The numbers trail the 0.60 rating and 1.27 million viewership sum posted by last week’s episode.
In contrast to this week’s “The Night Of,” this week’s “Ballers” was the series’ least watched episode yet.
10:30PM comedy “Vice Principals” led out with a 0.33 adults 18-49 rating and 0.71 million viewers; the previous episode drew a 0.42 and 0.89 million viewers. Sunday’s “Vice Principals” was the least watched of the series’ four episodes.
HBO’s lineup of originals concluded with “Last Week Tonight.” After drawing a 0.53 and 1.27 million last week, it scored a 0.39 and 1.01 million this week.
