Rihanna’s “Needed Me” Pacing For #1 At Rhythmic Radio

With the first three days of the July 10-16 tracking week in the books, it appears safe to conclude that Rihanna’s “Needed Me” will claim #1 on this week’s Mediabase rhythmic radio chart.

The song, which is the reigning #1 at urban radio, received 2,870 spins during the first three days of the tracking week. Up 13.2% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “Needed Me” at #1 on Mediabase’s rhythmic chart.

“Needed Me” does not face an imminent threat to its position.

The closest three songs on the building chart — Kent Jones’ building #2 “Don’t Mind,” Drake’s building #3 “One Dance” and The Chainsmokers’ building #4 “Don’t Let Me Down” — are actually down in airplay this week. Drake’s building #5 “Controlla” is on the rise, but it has no chance of catching “Needed Me” by week’s end.

“Work (featuring Drake),” Rihanna’s previous single, spent seven weeks atop the rhythmic airplay chart.
