Rihanna’s “Needed Me” Takes Early Lead In Race For #1 at Rhythmic Radio

With the opening day of the July 10-16 tracking week in the books, Rihanna’s “Needed Me” is leading the race for #1 at rhythmic radio.

Rihanna’s “ANTI” single received 917 spins on Sunday, July 10. Up 17.7% from the previous Sunday’s spin count, the count slots “Needed Me” at #1 on Mediabase’s building rhythmic chart.

Kent Jones’ “Don’t Mind,” which spent the past two weeks at #1 on the official chart, is now #2 on the building listing. It received 867 Sunday spins (+2.2%).

Because the week is still young and because Sunday airplay can be erratic, it is too early to definitively say “Needed Me” will claim #1 on this week’s rhythmic chart.

The song’s prospects are, however, looking very good.

“Needed Me” has reigned over the Mediabase urban chart for two straight weeks. It is officially inside the Top 25 at pop radio.
