Twenty One Pilots’ “Heathens,” G-Eazy’s “Saw It Coming” Reach Top 80 at Pop Radio

Currently #7 on the Mediabase pop airplay chart, twenty one pilots’ “Ride” is not done rising. The duo’s new single “Heathens” has nonetheless been garnering some early airplay at pop radio.

Played 108 times during the July 3-9 tracking week, the “Suicide Squad” single ranks as the Mediabase pop panel’s #73 song.

“Heathens” is one of two soundtrack songs to crack the Top 80 this week. G-Eazy’s “Ghostbusters” track “Saw It Coming (featuring Jeremih)” concurrently moves to #79.

The song, which was not even in the Top 120 last week, grabs #79 on the strength of 85 weekly spins.

It will be interesting to see if “Saw It Coming” can maintain — and develop — momentum in the coming weeks. G-Eazy’s Top 15 rhythmic hit “Drifting (featuring Chris Brown & Tory Lanez)” was recently made available to pop radio and could theoretically cannibalize on airplay.

RCA will also be promoting another “Ghostbusters” single in 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Girls Talk Boys.”
