Blink-182’s “California” Pacing To Win Sales Race, Dethrone “Views” On Billboard 200

Based on its opening day performance, Blink-182’s “California” will not only win the US sales race but dethrone Drake’s “Views” on the Billboard 200 consumption chart.

Hits Daily Double currently projects “California” to sell 120-125,000 pure US copies during its inaugural week of release. The inclusion of TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) should result in a first-week consumption tally of 125-130,000.

The former will give “California” a dominant advantage on the sales chart. Its closest competition will likely come from Maxwell’s new “BlackSUMMERS’night,” which is expected to sell 50-55,000 US copies.

The latter should be enough to give Blink the edge over “Views,” which should generate 95-110,000 in weekly consumption. Drake’s album has ruled the consumption chart for nine straight weeks.
