Ratings: “Adventures In Babysitting” Ranks As Friday’s #1 Cable Original

While it did not perform as well as preceding Disney Channel Original Movie “Invisible Sister” in adults 18-49 or total viewership, “Adventures In Babysitting” still ranked as Friday’s #1 original cable show in both columns.

It slightly outperformed “Invisible Sister” — and ranked as Friday night’s #1 show on all of television — in adults 18-34. It was also the night’s leader in all major kid and teen demos.

According to national live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Friday’s 8PM broadcast of “Adventures In Babysitting” drew a 0.76 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.75 adults 18-34 rating and 3.45 million total L+SD viewers.

All three were the best posted by a Friday cable original; the adults 18-34 rating also topped all of that night’s network programming.

Though strong in comparison to Friday night’s other shows, the numbers are soft by the recent DCOM standard. The aforementioned “Invisible Sister,” which was itself not one of the franchise’s more high-profile offerings, drew a 0.80 in adults 18-49, a 0.73 in adults 18-34 and 4.03 million total viewers.

The total audience figure will grow considerably, however, once multi-platform and re-run data is tabulated.

— Disney Channel led into Friday’s “Adventures In Babysitting” with “Girl Meets World” (0.56 in A18-49, 0.64 in A18-34, 2.13 million). It followed “Adventures” with the premiere of “Bizaardvark,” which drew a 0.47 in adults 18-49, a 0.45 in adults 18-34, and 2.41 million total viewers.

“Invisible Sister” led into an episode of “Girl Meets World” rather than a new show. The previous series to premiere immediately after a DCOM was “Bunk’d,” which drew a 0.75 in adults 18-49, a 0.64 in adults 18-34 and 4.24 million total viewers after the July 2015 premiere of “Descendants.”
