ABC’s three-hour game night block premiered Sunday, and 9PM entry “$100,000 Pyramid” drew the largest audience.
According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, “$100,000 Pyramid” debuted with a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating and 7.97 million total viewers. 8PM lead-in “Celebrity Family Feud” posted a 1.5 and 7.79 million, while lead-out “Match Game” managed a 1.5 and 6.66 million.
“Pyramid” was also #1 in both adults 18-49 and total viewership among all Sunday night network television programs.
While 9PM tends to be the most ratings-friendly primetime hour, it is worth noting that “Pyramid” dealt with competition from the “Game Of Thrones” finale in the slot. It also battled the highest rated hour of sports coverage on NBC (the 9PM hour of the P&G Gymnastics championship, 1.4 in the demo).
On the other hand, “Celebrity Family Feud” faced CBS’ “Big Brother” (1.5 in the demo), while “Pyramid” and “Match” were up against low-rated CBS drama re-runs (0.3 for “Madam Secretary” at 9PM; 0.3 for “Elementary” at 10PM).
All three shows additionally faced competition from the BET Awards, which aired on a myriad of Viacom networks.
