“Mama Said,” the follow-up to Lukas Graham’s breakthrough “7 Years,” will impact mainstream US radio during the final week of June.

Several hot adult contemporary and pop radio stations have no desire to wait until then.

San Francisco’s Alice@97.3, Fort Collins’ 99.9 The Point, and Sirius XM’s The Pulse each contributed 9 weekly Hot AC spins, while stations like Minnesota’s Cities 97 and San Francisco’s Star 101.3 played the song 7 times. Other stations offered three or fewer weekly spins.

Notable weekly pop airplay came from Detroit’s 98.7 AMP (8 spins), Chattanooga’s Hits 96 (8 spins) and Phoenix’ Live 101.5 (7 spins). Other stations, including Providence’s 92 Pro, Wilkes-Barre’s 98.5 KRZ and Johnson City/Greenville’s Electric 94.9, played the song twice this week.

“Mama Said” was first released in 2014 and has charted in several international markets, including the band’s Denmark home.

The aforementioned “7 Years” hit #1 at pop and hot adult contemporary radio in the United States.
