CBS’ “BrainDead” Posts Weak Premiere Ratings

Airing against game five of the NBA Finals, out of a “Scorpion” re-run and without much buzz, CBS’ “BrainDead” premiere predictably posted weak numbers.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, the summer series debuted with a soft 0.7 adults 18-49 rating and 4.48 million total viewers.

When it comes to adults 18-49, “BrainDead” was a distant third among network programs in its timeslot; in addition to ABC’s basketball game, it trailed NBC’s “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge” (1.5, 4.87 million).

That the soft performance was anticipated does not make it easier to spin.
