NIck Jonas Still Pacing To Win US Sales Race; Drake Will Rule Billboard 200

The Tony Awards boost should earn the “Hamilton: An American Musical” recording a Top 3 spot on the weekly sales chart, but Hits Daily Double still expects Nick Jonas’ “Last Year Was Complicated” to earn #1.

“Last Year Was Complicated” is currently pacing to sell 45-50,000 pure US albums this week. That should be enough for #1 on Top Album Sales.

Projected to sell 39-43,000 and 37-41,000 copies, respectively, Beyonce’s “Lemonade” and “Hamilton” should claim the next two slots.

Jon Bellion’s “The Human Condition” (~29-33,000) and Drake’s “Views” (~25-28,000) should form the balance of the Top 5.

While only tracking as the #5 album from a pure sales standpoint, “Views” should easily rank as the leader in total consumption.

Doing so would earn “Views” a seventh straight week atop the Billboard 200.

Hits currently expects “Views” to generate an impressive 115-125,000 weekly consumption units. Jonas’ “Last Year Was Complicated” (~60-65,000), “Lemonade” (~59-64,000), and “Hamilton” (~50-55,000) should most closely follow, with Rihanna’s “Anti” (~36-40,000) and “The Human Condition” (~36-40,000) vying for #5.
