Ratings: “UnREAL” Premiere Ties Series Low; “Devious Maids” Sets New One

Out-of-season buzz did not drive heightened live+same-day interest in Lifetime’s “UnREAL.” Monday’s episode, which served as the critically acclaimed series’ second season premiere, tied a series low in adults 18-49 and set a new one in total viewership.

The episode was, notably, done no favors by lead-in “Devious Maids,” which posted series low ratings for its fourth season premiere.

According to national data posted by Showbuzz, Monday’s “UnREAL” drew a 0.21 adults 18-49 rating and 0.50 million total viewers.

The 0.21 ties the series low posted by the July 27, 2015 episode. The live+same-day viewership figure, meanwhile, ranks as a new low point for the series, which had not previously gone below 0.55 million (6/22/2015).

Last year’s series premiere achieved a 0.29 rating and reached 0.82 million total viewers. The first season finale scored a 0.30 with 0.79 million.

Earlier in the night, lead-in “Devious Maids” drew a 0.35 rating and 1.08 million total viewers. The show’s previous lows were a 0.37 in adults 18-49 (7/27/2015) and 1.14 million viewers (6/22/2015).

Last season’s premiere posted a 0.53 and 1.47 million; the finale drew a 0.55 and 1.53 million.
