Proving that last week’s decline was indeed attributable to Memorial Day Weekend, “Game Of Thrones” bounced almost all the way back this week.
According to national data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s edition of the HBO juggernaut drew a 3.95 adults 18-49 rating and 7.80 million total viewers. The numbers best the 3.25 and 6.71 million drawn last week and nearly match the 3.96 rating and 7.89 million viewer mark posted on May 22.
They are both above the season averages.
Sunday’s “GoT” was the night’s highest-rated and most-watched cable show. It was the night’s #2 show in adults 18-49 across all of television (losing only to the NBA Finals) and #4 in total viewership across all of TV (below only the NBA Finals, ABC’s post-game coverage, and CBS’ “60 Minutes”).
“Game Of Thrones” led into “Silicon Valley” (0.91, 1.70 million this week vs. 0.88, 1.62 million last week).
HBO’s Sunday lineup also included “Veep” (0.51, 1.10 million this week vs. 0.43, 0.98 million last week) and “Last Week Tonight” (0.72, 1.61 million this week; did not air on Memorial Day).
