HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” Ratings Rise This Week

This week’s edition of “Game Of Thrones” outperformed the previous episode in both adults 18-49 and total viewership.

According to national data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s episode drew a 3.92 adults 18-49 rating and 7.82 million total viewers. The numbers top the 3.70 rating and 7.28 million viewership sum drawn last week.

They best those of the year-ago episode. The fourth episode of the fifth season drew a 3.6 rating and 6.82 million viewers on May 3, 2015.

As is typical, this week’s “GoT” was by far Sunday’s #1 show in adults 18-49. It was cable’s most watched show for the day, and, with CBS’ scripted Sunday programs done for the season, it also ranked as the night’s most watched entertainment program on all of television. Only CBS’ 7PM “60 Minutes” and the 8PM “60 Minutes” special drew more total live+same-day viewers.

HBO’s Sunday lineup also included “Silicon Valley” (1.00, 1.89 million this week vs. 0.91, 1.69 million last week), “Veep” (0.46, 0.97 million this week vs. 0.44, 0.97 million last week) and “Last Week Tonight” (0.58, 1.38 million this week vs. 0.60, 1.42 million last week).
