While it was neither featured on the fall 2016-17 lineup nor featured in NBC’s scheduling press release, critically acclaimed “The Carmichael Show” is not yet dead.
During a Sunday morning conference call regarding the new schedule, NBC’s Bob Greenblatt confirmed the network is still negotiating with studio 20th Century FOX over a potential third season.
Greenblatt confirmed that the two parties have been “going back and forth” over the episode order. Sources suggest NBC has been looking for a smaller order than was deemed acceptable by the studio.
“We’re looking at a very robust schedule with a lot of new shows, and we’re trying to fit everything in there and agree on a number of episodes that works for everyone,” noted Greenblatt.
The NBC boss noted his hope that a deal would have already been done — and hope that one will emerge soon.
