American Authors, Alessia Cara, Meghan Trainor, Calvin Harris & Rihanna Reach Top 50 at Hot AC

Six songs crack the Top 40 on this week’s Mediabase hot adult contemporary airplay chart.

Four other songs, meanwhile, make their first appearances inside the Top 50.

Leading the charge is American Authors’ “What We Live For.”

Spun 306 times during the May 8-14 tracking week (+132), “What We Live For” ranks as the Mediabase Hot AC panel’s #42 song. It was #53 last week.

Up nine places, Alessia Cara’s “Wild Things” directly follows at #43. It received 305 weekly spins (+85).

Meghan Trainor’s new “Me Too,” which reaches the Top 50 at pop, does the same at Hot AC. It rises thirty one places to #46 on the strength of 292 weekly spins (+243).

Calvin Harris’ “This Is What You Came For (featuring Rihanna)” is the fourth new addition to the Top 50. Up eighteen places, it earns #50 on the strength of its 171 weekly plays (+91).

— While not new to the Top 50, We The Kings’ “The Story Of Tonight” re-enters that territory this week. It rises two places to #49 with 242 spins (+9).
