“Supergirl” Moving To The CW For Second Season

“Supergirl” has not been cancelled, but it will not be returning to CBS.

The comic adaption will instead move to The CW for its second season.

News of the second season renewal — and associated move to The CW — came Thursday.

While network-to-network moves are rare, this one had been expected. “Supergirl” is far more on-brand with The CW, a network home to several DC Comics series, than it is with CBS. And if it can retain even two-thirds of its adults 18-49 audience upon moving, it will be a high-level performer for the smaller network.
