Paxton Ingram Edges Nick Hagelin For Instant Save, Advances To “The Voice” Semifinals

For the third straight week, the recipient of the previous “Instant Save” returned to the bottom two.

For the third straight week, that contestant was unable to secure a second “Instant Save.”

Team Christina’s Nick Hagelin was thus eliminated from “The Voice” during Tuesday’s results show. Team Blake’s Paxton Ingram, who joined Hagelin in the bottom two, earned the viewer-voted “Instant Save” and thus secured a place in the semifinal round.

In pursuit of the “Instant Save,” Ingram performed “How Will I Know” and Hagelin performed “Change The World.” The subsequent “Instant Save” vote was one of the closest ever; a few minutes prior to the close of voting, the two contestants were actually in a dead heat.

Ingram’s survival keeps Team Blake (Adam Wakefield, Mary Sarah, Paxton Ingram) intact going into the Top 8 semifinal round. Team Christina is now down to Bryan Bautista and Alisan Porter, while Team Adam is represented by Shalyah Fearing and Laith al-Saadi and Team Pharrel by Hannah Huston.
