Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling” Heading Top 25 at Pop, Hot AC Radio

Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling” received monster opening day airplay at the pop and hot adult contemporary radio formats.

The incredible opening day performance puts the song on pace for the Top 25 at both formats — despite the fact that it did not arrive until the sixth day of the May 1-7 tracking period.

Aided by hourly airplay promotions and the support one would expect for a new Timberlake single, “Feeling” received 2,487 opening day spins at Mediabase-monitored pop stations and 843 opening day spins at Mediabase-monitored Hot AC stations. It appears at #26 on the Mediabase’s building charts, which account for airplay over the first six days of the tracking period, for both formats.

“Can’t Stop The Feeling” will not receive nearly as many spins Saturday, but it should still be able to retain — if not improve — its position at both formats. And as long as it is positioned at #26 or better on the building charts, it will enter the Top 25 on the final charts: Flo Rida’s building #11 “My House” is due to be removed as a recurrent at pop radio, while Shawn Mendes’ building #11 “Stitches” will go recurrent at Hot AC. The removals will bump all songs below #11 — including the new Timberlake single — up by one place.

“Can’t Stop The Feeling” also garnered solid attention at rhythmic radio, where it received 344 first day spins. It is #44 on the building chart.
