Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” Reportedly Nearing 40K Pre-Order Sales, Expected To Debut at #1

“Dangerous Woman” is very much expected to become Ariana Grande’s third straight #1 album when it arrives later this month, and it may do so with the best opening week tally of her career.

According to Hits Daily Double, US pre-order sales are nearing 40,000. Based on that volume — and expectations for how it will perform during its actual May 20-26 release week — Hits says sources are projecting an opening week sales total in the 200,000 range.

Assuming Blake Shelton’s “If I’m Honest” performs more like his last album “Bringing Back The Sunshine” (101,000) than his 2013 release “Based On A True Story…” (199,000), a 200,000 total would convincingly position Grande at #1 on the album sales chart.

It would also represent the best sales week of her career. Previous album “My Everything” sold 169,000 in its first week, while her studio debut “Yours Truly” sold 138,000.

Given the likelihood that “Dangerous Woman” will fare particularly well from a track sales and streaming standpoint, it should also have no trouble debuting atop the Billboard 200 consumption chart.
