The Chainsmokers & Daya Headed For Pop Radio’s Top 10; Ariana Grande Also On Pace

The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down (featuring Daya)” is set to claim a top ten position on this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” also has a very good chance of entering that territory.

“Don’t Let Me Down” received 4,401 spins during the first three days of the May 1-7 tracking week. Up 17.2% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “Don’t Let Me Down” at #9 on Mediabase’s building chart.

Absent an imminent threat from below, “DLMD” should have no trouble retaining its position through the close of the week. It may even leapfrog DNCE’s building #8 “Cake By The Ocean” and Justin Bieber’s building #7 “Love Yourself,” which are both declining, before the week concludes.

Grande’s song does not have the momentum of “Don’t Let Me Down” — its gains have, in fact, been slowing recently — but it still has a solid shot at the Top 10.

Spun 4,192 times during the tracking week’s first three days, “Dangerous Woman” is #11 on Mediabase’s building chart. This week’s count bests last week’s by 4.2%.

The song only narrowly trails Flo Rida’s “My House,” which received 4,250 spins during the three-day window. The difference is that “My House” is clearly fading; its spin count is down 10.3% from the mark at this point last week.

If the songs were to at least roughly remain on their current trajectories, “Dangerous Woman” would overtake “My House” before the week concludes.
