Report: Beyonce’s “Lemonade” Wins Album Sales Race, Drives Over 900K Track Sales, 100M Streams

Beyonce’s “Lemonade” was a smash on all fronts, driving massive opening week US album sales, track sales, and streaming figures.

Hits Daily Double says the album, which did not even arrive for wide purchase until the fourth day of the April 22-28 tracking week, sold approximately 500,865 US copies during the tracking period. It easily ranks as the week’s best-selling album.

While Billboard’s more authoritative data will likely differ from that reported by Hits, the disparity should not be enough to change the overall outcome. “Lemonade” will claim #1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart.

It will also claim #1 on the Billboard 200. Hits estimates that “Lemonade” drove about 664,000 total weekly consumption units, a total that accounts for the 501K album sales plus approximately 92K in TEA (920,000 track sales/10) and over 70K in TEA (over 105 million weekly TIDAL streams/1500).

Prince’s “The Very Best Of Prince” will take second on both Top Album Sales and the Billboard 200. Hits says it sold about 220,035 copies in the US; with TEA and SEA included, it drove about 374,236 weekly consumption units.
