Owen Danoff Wins Instant Save; Emily Keener Eliminated From “The Voice”

Tuesday’s “The Voice” results show provided a reminder that iTunes is only one of the channels through which America votes for contestants.

Emily Keener, whose “Lilac Wine” was Monday’s third-best-selling performance on iTunes, was eliminated from the competition.

The seventeen-year-old Team Pharrell member was joined in the bottom two by Team Adam’s Owen Danoff. While his “7 Years” did not sell as well as Keener’s performance, it outperformed four of Monday’s songs on the iTunes chart.

As has become tradition on “The Voice,” both Keener and Danoff competed for America’s “Instant Save.” Keener performed “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain,” while Danoff offered his take on “Lego House.”

On-screen graphics confirm a very close vote, but Twitter users ultimately opted to keep Danoff in the competition.

The eleven remaining contestants — Team Adam’s Danoff, Laith al-Saadi and Shalyah Fearing, Team Pharrell’s Daniel Passino and Hannah Huston, Team Blake’s Mary Sarah, Paxton Ingram and Adam Wakefield, and Team Christina’s Alisan Porter, Nick Hagelin, and Bryan Bautista — return to the stage next week.
