Rascal Flatts’ “I Like The Sound Of That” Reaches #1 at Country Radio

After spending the past two weeks in the runner-up position, Rascal Flatts’ “I Like The Sound Of That” rises to #1 on this week’s Mediabase country radio singles chart.

The song, which marks the group’s second #1 from the “Rewind” album (the title track also reached the Mediabase chart’s apex), seizes the throne from Cole Swindell’s “You Should Be Here.” Swindell’s tune slips to #5 after two weeks on top.

Not simply the leader in Mediabase chart points (28,408, +1,180), “I Like The Sound Of That” also easily ranks as the Mediabase country panel’s most played and most heard song for the April 10-16 tracking week.

It received a panel-leading spin count of 8,782 (+407) and a panel-leading audience impression tally of ~61.200 million.

Up two places, Florida Georgia Line’s “Confession” takes #2 on this week’s chart. Dierks Bentley’s “Somewhere On A Beach” follows at #3 thanks to a four-place gain from last week, while Chris Young & Cassadee Pope’s “Think Of You” (#4, +2) and the aforementioned “You Should Be Here” (#5, -4) complete the Top 5.

Released as the fourth single from “Rewind,” “I Like The Sound Of That” was written by Jesse Frasure, Meghan Trainor, and Shay Mooney.
