Despite going head-to-head with the “American Idol” finale, the first two hours of ABC’s “TGIT” lineup held up reasonably well in adults 18-49 this week.
8PM series “Grey’s Anatomy” was down only slightly, while 9PM drama “Scandal” matched last week’s performance in the demo.
10PM drama “The Catch,” which commenced during the concluding moments of the “Idol” finale, meanwhile posted a slight week-to-week gain.
Per fast national data posted by Showbuzz, “Grey’s” opened ABC’s night with a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating and 7.30 million total viewers. Last week’s episode drew a 2.2 and 7.77 million.
“Scandal” followed with a 1.7 and 5.90 million total viewers. The former number matches last week’s 1.7, while the latter was down from the 6.44 million mark posted by that broadcast. The decline in total viewership suggests that “Scandal” lost some of its older viewers to the “Idol” finale, which drew a 3.3 rating and 14.14 million total viewers in the 9PM hour.
Up from last week’s 1.0 demo rating, “The Catch” posted a 1.1 for its third episode. It did, however, decline from 5.07 million to 4.89 million in total viewers.
