Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better” Expected To Reach Top 40 at Pop Radio

Earlier this week, Headline Planet noted that Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better” was on track to rank as one of the week’s Top 50 songs at pop radio.

That projection will prove true. It will also prove to understate how high the new “ANTI” single should go by the end of the tracking week.

The song now appears to be set for a Top 40 position.

“Kiss It Better” received 579 spins during the first five days of the April 3-9 tracking week. Up a whopping 403.5% from where the song was at this point last week (granted, it was only available for the latter two of those five days last week), the count slots Rihanna’s tune at #42 on the building chart.

So why assume it will reach the Top 40?

For starters, Charlie Puth’s “One Call Away,” which is #21 on the building chart, is due to be removed as a recurrent this week. All songs below its position will therefore rise by one place on the final chart.

“Kiss It Better,” meanwhile, should — at the very least — be able to move ahead of Ellie Goulding’s rapidly declining “Something In The Way You Move.” The song is currently #41 on building with 633 spins.

The two events would already put “Kiss It Better” at #40. It may further be able to leapfrog Dillon Francis & Kygo’s “Coming Over (featuring James Hershey),” which is #40 on the building chart and declining. Given its rate of growth, moving past Halsey’s building #39 “Colors” is also possible.
